On the other hand, you may experience some fluid accumulation, injury to skin, rippling or bagginess of skin, and/or asymmetry. If you experience pigmentation changes, be aware that this may become permanent if exposed to sun. You may also experience excessive scarring if tissue was cut away. A second procedure may be required to remove additional tissue. Some side effects include: temporary bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, and/or a burning sensation. You should be back to work in about 3 to 7 days. Refrain from strenuous activities for about 2 to 3 weeks. The swelling will most likely persist for another 3 to 6 months. The results of a gynecomastia are permanent.
