Spider veins are small broken capillaries close to the surface of the skin. A concentration of spider veins in small areas on the skin is often considered unattractive. Spider veins can often be caused by hormonal changes and pressure and exacerbated by sun exposure. Many women tend to develop spider veins after pregnancy. Similarly, continuous sun exposure can cause facial spider veins and lead to a rosy, “flushed” look.
Luckily, spider veins can now be treated with lasers that target the purple or deep red color of spider veins.
vascular lasers are used to treat spider veins on the face and body by targeting the hemoglobin in the vessels. The light energy delivered by the laser gently “collapses” the spider veins while leaving surrounding tissue unharmed.
Vascular conditions that can be easily treated include:
- Telangiectasia
- Ruby and Cherry Angiomas
- Spider Veins
